The Best Beach Destinations in Thailand
Thailand boasts a tropical climate all year round and people who want to soak up the sun travel here to head straight to Thailand’s beautiful beaches via the great number of readily available Thailand flights. There are literally hundreds of stretches of powdery white sand to be found throughout Thailand, and what follows is a guide to some of the best.
Pattaya is located just to the east of Bangkok and this is perhaps the nation’s most easily accessible beach. while the beach itself is rather small, it is lined with an excellent range of amenities such as shops, bars and restaurants, while the nightlife scene here is particularly vibrant.
Hua Hin is a charming beach resort that can be found a short drive to the south of Bangkok. the main stretch of sand here is long and wide and is regularly used to host events such as the annual jazz festival, while visitors can also hire deckchairs and take donkey rides on the beach.
However, most of the best beaches in Thailand can be found on the tropical islands that are located to the east of Bangkok and in the southwest of the country. Sai Kaew Beach is the most vibrant and popular beach on the tiny island of Koh Samed. This pretty beach stretches for a kilometre, from the small beach bars at the north of the beach to more crowded areas towards the middle and the southern end.
Haad Rin is a large beach located on the southern tip of Koh Pha Ngan. This beach is famous for its monthly full moon parties, which attract people from all over the world. During the full moon and half-moon parties Haad Rin is full of fun loving people dancing the night away on the sand. This beach is particularly picturesque and is lined with numerous beach bars and restaurants, which means that sun worshippers never have far to go in search of refreshments or entertainment.
Last but not least, nearby Koh Tao is a real haven for beach lovers. The waters here are particularly cool and clear, and this is an excellent place to try diving and snorkelling. Most of the bars, restaurants and hotels here can be found close to the beaches on the west side of the island, while the eastern beaches tend to be much quieter.
